In the midst of unprecedented closures due to COVID-19, Seeds of Service overcame disruptions while quickly adapting from serving 400 families to providing curbside and remote services to 1,100 registered families.
This equates to 4,270 food baskets, helping to save the community $1,257,646.00 in food and volunteer hours.
The pandemic has severely impacted our self-sustaining fundraising, creating a $160,000 loss. This impairs the community’s ability to respond to its own needs, due to social distancing measures and economic hardships. Plant a seed to help your community grow through your kindness. What we plant now, we harvest later.
Thank you for choosing to help us help others. Together, we have distributed $704,550 in food baskets to families in need, while leveraging support from as many community partners as possible. Due to shortages in food chain supplies across the U.S. and the loss of community food drives, to meet the need, SOS is purchasing items for its pantry directly. In excess of $40,000 was spent in the last eight months alone, which is unprecedented. Please help us spread the word, and together we can continue to make a difference and provide much-needed help. A $20 donation will feed two families for Thanksgiving or give a gift to a child this Christmas.
